Born and raised in Brazil, Damaris has travelled and lived all over the world, gathering inspiration from the places she's seen and experienced.
She always had an interest in art and began painting as a self-taught hobby.
Moving to Florida in 2008, Damaris took courses in painting, mixed media and printmaking/monotype at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. In 2010, Damaris took part in a joint initiative with the Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Institute.
Her work was selected by the committee and subsequently featured in the “You’ve gotta have heart” campaign’s published material.
In 2011, Damaris moved to Melbourne where she focused on developing her printmaking skills at the Australian Print Workshop Melbourne.
In 2013 Damaris started studying Visual Arts at La Trobe College of Art & Design, Melbourne with a focus on Studio practice, painting and drawing.
